Last saturday I went from kind of rocker to comfty in the same outfit. I got the the rocker vibe from the drawing on the hooded blouse and I thought black would be a nice match. It was so hot that day that I refused to wear booties and I was a bit of tired to wear heels. So the result was this. What do you think? Do I need a different shoes-choice? or ethnic-inspired sandals can match a studded belt and hooded top?

Anyway, my boyfriend just got a new version of pokemon and he was showing me some changes in the game and by the time I realise I was playing it too, hehe. I guess these pictures are perfect for him because they combine the two things he loves the most, hahaha =)

The title describes the main purpose of muy outfit: something I could use for both ocassions. The thing is I’m rearranging my schedule so for the past week I was literally running to get everywhere! This day, I didn’t have time to change my clothes for belly dancing class (I was out of work at 6 pm and my class started at the same hour so I only had time to arrive there and take my shoes off). I felt the harem pants were very appropiate to my class, kind of loose, comfortable and yet stylish enough to take them to work too.

The accesories are an effort to dress up the tank top and to add a touch of color. Turquoise being (or any similar blue shades) my favorite color ever =)

This day I wasn’t planning to wear a skirt, but suddenly the day got a bit warmer that what I had expected. I didn’t feel like wearing a skirt and other type of shoes like sandals because I knew it was going to be windy at night, hence my decision of wearing a mini skirt with leggings as tights and boots. I felt the knot was an adaptation of the “Carrie Bradshaw approach” for the plaid shirt. Yes I’m a big Carrie and Sex and the city fan!! I can’t wait for the movie looks even if the plot doesn’t seem all that great…

Anyway If you have no idea of what I’m talking about here’s my last polyvore set (omg, it’s been so long since that last time I made a set) I’ll be doing some – I hope I can do at least one- over the weekend and I’ll show it to you here.

When I first saw these lovely pajamas at Oysho my first thought was MINE!!! I tried them on and they were a little big for my size but they were the only piece left in the store. I fell in love so much with the design and the color squeme (big Snoopy and London fan here) that I bought them right away (a long with the upper piece of another pajamas which looks much more shirt-like, show it to you later). I remember I even had to borrow money from my guy because I didn’t have enough money on me that day.. hehe. Thanks, hun! =P

In Spanish we have a saying that goes like this: “el que de amarillo viste en su belleza confía” which could be translated as if you wear yellow is because you’re too confident, in other words you think too much of your own beauty. I think yellow can be tricky sometimes, specially certain hues (I cannot stop but thinking about mustard when I see this shirt), but then againg risky can be refreshing.

I liked the final result, considering I just threw on a set of things I thought they would match. Well, the main ideas was to prove that you can undress or overdress a simple shirt depending on the type of accesories you choose. One piece for several fun looks.

So, what do you think? does mustard yellow make the right statement here? or I’m trusting too much, haha

Wearing:

Brown flowered-head band: Cklass

Yellow printed shirt : Aéropostale

Washed jeans: pull & bear

Brown lace up heels: LOB footwear

First outfit post!!!

I had this family reunion in the ever beautiful Guadalajara a couple days ago. I decided to use my brand new vest in a  summer-kind of 60’s look, hehe, which really wasn’t my first intention, but somehow this was the result.

I wanted to keep neutral colors for the clothes and have gold, bronze and silver accents for the accesories. I think this vest has  a rocker and bohemian vibe on its own (or is it me?) because everytime I think about to wear it I end up with such ideas…who knows? Anyway, the gatheringwas pretty delightful; such a shame I only spent the weekend there. I can’t wait to go back!!

My outfit:

Random black t-shirt

Black vest: Veneccia

Green trousers: STOP

Necklace – b-day gift

Ring, belt and bracelets: Vallarta’s downtown market

Sunglasses: vintage

Sandals: Cklass

THE FIRST OF MANY…

hello, world!! Welcome to Twist and Fashion. On this blog I will take you through my own style adventures, and many times I will also keep you informed about fashion’s events and in a global context.
Even if not my profession, fashion is one of my biggest passions, which I have explored first through my wardrobe, later by reading thousands of magazines, articles, blogs, books, etc.
Most currently, my evergrowing addiction to the lovely POLYVORE, has given me enough confidence to take that final step into communicating what I really think about this fascinating world. I believe fashion to be a creative and artistic process and as such, I very often find inspiration in things outside of the fashion mainstream, hence the inclusion of posts related to music, movies, pop-culture and art in general.
Above all, this is an opportunity to get to know a lot of inner fashionistas out there, learn about their valuable interests and opinions.
Despite what the fashion industry may represent as a whole, for me it will always be the expression of that what makes us different and unique. This is my Twist and Fashion.
